As a travel destination, Australia has much to offer for the thousands of visitors who visit the country each year. Travelers can enjoy touring around Australian cities, exploring the outback, or diving in the Great Barrier Reef. Although Australia has always been associated with koalas and kangaroos, these are definitely only a small fraction of what Australia can offer as a travel destination.

There are many activities one can enjoy when traveling in Australia, the most popular of which is excursions in the Great Outback. This gallery is also famous because it was personally founded by the much-respected Queen Elizabeth II. Canberra is a must for all art lovers who visit Australia.
Canberra is also home to the NFSA or the National Film and Sound Archive. Film lovers should not forego visiting this place as it offers a rare opportunity to listen to classical and historical audio and video recordings. This place is like an art museum because it houses close to a thousand artifacts relating to motion picture and audio media including films, radio scripts, and television shows. Although a majority of these are Australian, there are still some international film and audio artifacts worth watching or listening.
A wonderful destination a few miles off Queensland’s coast is the Great Barrier Reef. It has long been regarded as one of, if not the most popular diving destination on the face of the earth. It is also the only natural structure that can be viewed from outer space.
Diving in the Great Barrier Reef gives you a feeling of being in another world. The reef feature 2,600 kilometers of corals and is home to a wide array of fishes and marine organisms, quite a number of which can be only found here.
Scuba diving, however, is not the only activity you can enjoy here. You can also go swimming, helmet diving, or snorkeling.
Australia is definitely a destination worth traveling to not only because of its rich history, but because of the vast sights and sounds one can enjoy in the country.
